Frequently asked

A full performance license cleared for stage, screen, and film festivals. Every track has three term options — 2 Day, 1 Week, or 1 Month — priced per track, so pick whichever fits your show.

Whenever your performance actually happens — not the day you check out. Buy now for a show that's still weeks out, lock in today's price, and your term starts on your schedule.

Non-monetized use is included with every license — livestreams, social media posts, and YouTube uploads documenting your performance, as long as the platform or the post itself isn't generating revenue. If you're planning a monetized use instead — a paid stream, an ad-supported video, a broadcast, or any commercial project — that needs a separate sync license. Contact us with the platform, expected audience, and whether it's monetized, and we'll quote a license for that specific use before you publish.

Cuts and fades to fit your piece are always fine. For anything beyond that — remixing, layering in other audio, reworking the composition — contact us and we'll figure it out.

Every track is delivered as a high-quality WAV file, not a compressed MP3 — ready for professional editing, mixing, or post-production, not just playback.

Yes — add as many tracks as you need to your cart and check out once with one shared license form. If your purchasing process needs an invoice or PO rather than a card at checkout, use the "Need to pay by invoice or PO instead?" link on the checkout form, or contact us directly.

Yes, please — drop a credit in your show program, or tag @rangeofmotionrecordings when you share it online. It's the one thing we ask in return.

All sales are final. Licenses are a one-time purchase with no recurring fees or renewals, so there's nothing to cancel — but that also means no refunds once a license is purchased.

Contact us with the details and we'll get back to you — usually within 1–2 business days. This is a one-person operation, so if it's urgent, say so in your message.

Who we are

Range of Motion Recordings is a music production and licensing studio built specifically for dancers and choreographers.

William Labossiere at the piano

Every track is original, human-composed, and mixed with movement in mind — no stock-library filler, no AI-generated placeholder music. Just real, purpose-built scores for real performances.

Traditional licensing means chasing down labels, publishers, and lawyers for a single track. We built the opposite: a catalogue where every piece is already cleared, priced fairly for independent artists, and ready the moment you need it — for the rehearsal studio, the live stage, film festivals, and competition floors.

Want something built specifically for your piece? We take on custom commissions too — tailored exactly to your vibe, your timeline, your vision.

William Labossiere

I started Range of Motion Recordings because I lived the music-licensing nightmare firsthand.

As Music Director at Texas Christian University's School of Classical and Contemporary Dance, I spent way too much time chasing down rights holders across international labels, publishing companies, and composers I'd never meet. Getting a license for a single song could stretch on for weeks, and easily cost hundreds of dollars — for one track, one show.

Meanwhile, as a composer, I was already writing constantly — commissioned by choreographers and dance companies who needed exactly the kind of music I loved building.

The gap was obvious: independent artists and dance companies needed a catalogue of easy-to-license music that didn't drain their budget or their patience. So I built it.

I'm growing this catalogue one track at a time — as a one-person team, every piece gets the same careful mixing and mastering, built specifically for movement. It takes real time, and I love every second of it.

Buying for a show that's still weeks out? That's exactly what this is built for — purchase now, and your license window starts whenever your performance actually happens. Lock in your track today, use it on your own schedule.

Every license is fully cleared for stage, screen, dance film, and any creative project you're working on.

The only thing I ask in return: credit Range of Motion Recordings. Drop my name in your show program, or tag @rangeofmotionrecordings when you share it.

Thank you for being here, and for supporting a one-person mission to make this easier for everyone doing the work.
